Skyscrapers in Chicago?
Chicago was a place of possibility in the 1890s.
Chicago’s population was nearly one million. Like the proverbial phoenix, the City had risen anew from the ashes of the Great Fire of 1871. Everywhere one looked, something was being built, and Chicago was the talk of the nation as it beat out New York City to host the 1893 World’s Fair.
